An ongoing transmedia project from trangender artist K Pontuti
Drawing was my first medium. It’s the quickest way I can communicate, with others and myself. It’s the foundation of all my work, art or otherwise.
Many of the drawings here are from the 1990’s when I was immersed in the SF messenger and LA underground punk art scenes.
Here we all are 30 years later, and something about this body of work feels more familiar than ever.

UPDATE: After initially putting these online and out into the world last year, I rebooted and doubled down on my drawing practice, which led to a new body of work, a new identity (so true), and the exhibition PRAY AND BE THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING at University of the Pacific’s REYNOLDS GALLERY in Stockton, CA .
Now we’re in Oakland with ICKY KITTY FUZZY SWEATER at UMA GALLERY in February 2023!
